Pink Lady Initiative

Upto date the girl child continues to face challenges in accessing the right to education. Girls education goes beyond getting them in school. It is about continuity, safety and completion of all levels of education. It further goes to integrating them to the market. Factors such as poverty, social-cultural practices, Illiteracy, early marriages, economic and geographical factors continue to act as barrier for Girl Child education. According to UNESCO estimates, 130 million girls between the age of 6 and 17 are out of school and 15 million girls of primary school age, half of them in sub-Saharan Africa will never enter a classroom.
Pink Lady is an initiative that seeks to promote Girl Child Empowerment through Educational programs and mentorship. Our goal is to see an effective transition in girl child education.
“In as much as we point out Socio-cultural, Economic, and Environmental factors, our girls lack mentorship. We need community sensitization, comprehensive sexuality education, and more enrollment of girls in schools.” Doreen Majala, Founder Doreen Majala Foundation
